Watch Hill Documentary on Rhode Island PBS
The documentary Watch Hill: Portrait of a New England Seaside Village airs at 8:30 tonight on WSBE, Rhode Island PBS. The documentary is based on Watch Hill Through Time, a book about the village written by the Watch Hill Conservancy.
Back in August of 2013, the RHODI team went to historic Watch Hill to learn about the Watch Hill Lighthouse (though of course we took some time after our work was done to eat some ice cream and appreciate the gorgeous carousel). Below, a few photos from our survey:
We were impressed at the quality of the small seaside museum, maintained by the Watch Hill Lighthouse Keepers. The content focuses on maritime history, including local shipwrecks and the Hurrican of 1938. Collection highlights include a Fresnel lens, photographs, journals, and sea-chests. You can also learn more about the museum by viewing the Watch Hill Lighthouse Keepers profile in the RHODI directory.

And don't forget to watch the full-length documentary on PBS tonight, March 6, at 8:30.
